I recently watched the 2009 Star Trek movie and had an urge for fic (of course, lol), so I’m making my way through AO3, oldest first (since I haven’t seen the new one yet, obviously!). I didn’t really have feelings one way or another for Gaila when I watched the movie, but this actually gave her depth. I really liked how the taboos and cultural differences between Nyota and Gaila were handled in this and how their friendship grew. The background Spock/Nyota was totally cute too. ♥
