Summary: Captain America always there in the Stark household when Tony was growing up. For Tony, he was always the annoying older brother that his father compared him to. In the wake of the Chitauri invasion, Steve sheds more light on the situation than Tony ever really wanted. Tony is forced to confront the fact that Howard and Steve had been in a relationship, loved each other even, and he doesn’t know how to deal; Steve’s been thrown into a future where his lover is dead and accidentally left him a son, and everyone keeps walking on eggshells… when it comes to the dame he’d only kissed once, but not the man he gave his heart to.

At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read this since I’m Steve/Tony is pretty much OTP endgame to me and Steve being like a stepdad to Tony is weird, lol. But yeah, I just felt so bad for Steve in this, waking up and finding the out the man of your life is dead and no one even thought it would matter how he was told about it. I really like the interaction between Steve and Tony in this and how they work on navigating their complicated relationship.
