I really love this characterization of Draco. I love how we see Draco in the past as someone who isn’t strong enough, but wants to be, so much. And then in the aftermath, he’s still trying to be strong and taking risks because he realizes that he can’t take the backseat for the rest of his life. I love how Harry sees Draco and sees his strength and admires it.

He wants someone who’s able to admit they were wrong. It’s something Harry admires because it’s something he can’t really manage himself.

THIS! YES! And how Harry knows that there will be conflicts in the future but realizes that they were both willing to try and how that is all he needs. Seriously, so lovely. *love*

Oh man, Harry is SO CUTE in this one! I just love shy!Harry, it’s true, lol. But seriously! How can you NOT Harry being head-over-heels for Draco?

“You know, Harry, you keep saying ‘yes’ to me.” Draco had regained a measure of his control and some of the amusement was back in his tone, but his eyes were still intense. “I may take advantage of that fact if you’re not more careful.” Before Harry could respond, he took Harry’s mouth in another kiss, hot and sweet, that made Harry’s knees buckle.

GAH! YES YES YES! Hahaha. Oh Harry, you’re too cute! I keep saying it, but I was totally thinking it throughout the fic! XD

He’d been replaying the events of the evening in his mind, lingering over them, cementing them firmly into his memory. He was trying to decide whether he should chance staying until Draco woke, or whether he should leave before then. Harry’s brow creased in a slight frown. Draco had seemed happy enough to have Harry curl up in bed next to him after they’d cleaned up; he’d even pulled Harry into his arms and slung one arm possessively around him. Harry warmed at the memory; it had felt wonderful, natural, and he’d indulged in the fantasy of pretending that Draco’s bed was his rightful place to spend the night. It had been a sweet fantasy, and Harry remembered it with a wistful sigh. He’d better leave now, though, he thought reluctantly; if Draco woke and was irritated that he was still there–or worse, was cool and dismissive–Harry didn’t think he could bear it.

Oh Harry! As if Draco doesn’t want you! It’s parts like this that get me, lol. Even though we ALL know Draco wants Harry A LOT, Harry’s insecurities just make my heart clench for him! GAH!

After nearly a month, Hermione cornered Harry at work one day, demanding to know what was going on, but Harry just shrugged. He didn’t want to talk about Draco to anyone; he wanted to hug their time together jealously to himself, to keep it private, entirely his, so when the inevitable end came he could grieve in peace.

The truth of the matter was that he was dangerously close to falling in love with Draco, and he knew without question that Hermione would see that immediately if he talked about Draco at all. So he put her off, reassuring her with vague platitudes that he knew didn’t fool her for a minute, but which gave her no recourse to pursue the matter.

Okay, seriously, I love this fic, lol. I need to stop quoting things, but GOD, Harry is just killing me!

…he was painfully aware of the fact that he hadn’t ‘caught’ Draco at all. There had never been any talk between them of any kind of permanence, they just moved from day to day, staying firmly in the present.

“No, I’m not interested in that. And I haven’t ‘caught’ him. He’s…he’s free to do whatever he wants. To see whoever he wants.” The words were stilted, uncomfortable, and Harry was caught off guard at how deeply it hurt to say them aloud.

Pansy walked closer and squinted at him thoughtfully, reaching absently for a handful of grapes. “You really mean that, don’t you, Potter? I mean, you’d let Draco walk away from you in a second if you thought he didn’t want you anymore.”

Harry shrugged noncommittally, and misery flashed briefly over his face, but he masked it quickly. It was another one of Harry’s constant worries; no one had ever held Draco’s attention for very long, and he didn’t expect to be the one to change that. But he had every intention of staying as long as Draco did want him, and of making the most of that time for both of them.

Oh man, poor Harry, constantly thinking that “it’s only a matter of time” and all.. Seriously, my heart was clenching the WHOLE TIME even though we KNOW Draco is gonna be keeping Harry forEVER, haha.

And then there’s the sequel, Worth the Wait, which is in Draco’s POV and that one is even WORSE with the heart-clenching! GAH! I think I like Mutual Interest more than the companion piece, but the sequel is good as well.

I had a feeling before reading this fic that it would give me second-hand embarassment while reading it, but surprisingly didn’t have too much of that, haha. (Or, at least the amount of second-hand embarassment in the fic wasn’t as much as I was expecting.)

I loved how cute Draco was with his crush on Harry, haha. And his brilliant plan to be Harry’s boyfriend, lol, even though that is slightly weird. XP

“No, Potter. It’s … Sex is like dessert. You know, it’s great if there is dessert, but you won’t die if there isn’t. Talking and kissing — that’s regular food. And that’s the bit you have to have or you’ll starve. And even while some things may be hard to swallow, so to speak, most of it’s still tasty …” Why, oh why was he blabbering nonsense? Draco closed his eyes and tried not to groan. What was he even talking about?

He peeked through one eye. Potter was giving him a funny look and then his lips curved into a smile. “Did you just say that you need my kisses or you’ll starve?”

“What? No!” Draco gasped, horrified. “You can’t do that. You just took bits and pieces and spliced them together to make a sentence that I did — not — say!”

Oh Draco, you absolute DORK. *hearts* XD I just loved Draco’s voice in this — it’s so awesome. =)

I felt so bad for Draco when he went to meet Harry the second night and how Harry said he was ready and I was like, OHZ NOZ POOR DRACO and it was just horrible. Good thing Harry knew all along that it was Draco, haha. XD

I loved how Harry and Draco were fighting over the lights and them meeting in broom cupboards to have sex. XP And I loved how “kiss my arse” turned into rimming. GUHHHHH! XD

Draco shifted his weight, looking nervous, or excited; it was hard to tell. “Something else else. You’ll like it.” Draco nodded, but wavered quickly. “I think. Maybe not. Never mind.”

Harry’s pulse quickened. This was interesting. Malfoy was unsure about something. “Is it something kinky?” Harry frowned; he sounded much too hopeful.

I love this fic! I loved Draco’s letters to Harry and how they progressively get more snark-y and how he ends up going to Harry’s house to rant to him about not responding, lol. I loved the interaction between Harry and Draco, how they gradually go from Draco bugging Harry about the Gala to hanging out and having a daily routine to actual friends. I loved the cupboard (YES I MISSED IT FROM Foundations!verse) and Mrs. Norris, and Janice, and Harry’s reclusive-ness.

Seriously, I loved it all! The characterization was awesome and Sara’s Girl is awesome and this fic is awesome. XD READ NOW!

This fic is ridiculously long, but good. XD I know that long!fics sometimes turns people off (or you have to be in the right mood for it), so be aware that it’s about 400K words long. XP

Secrets takes place right after HBP and the fic in its entirety takes place during the summer before their seventh year (yes, all 62 chapters of it!). It felt like way more time passed while I was reading it and I had to keep reminding myself that only a day has passed or only a week has passed, lol.

Overall, I liked Harry’s characterization, and how Draco went to Harry in the beginning because Harry is the only one Draco could trust with his secret. It was really interesting watching Harry as he juggled all his secrets. There were some things that I was kind of eh about, but overall, this was a very gripping read. Just an FYI, definitely not a good idea to start a LONG fic right before midterms (I read this earlier during the school year) — I kept wanting to read more even though I had to study! XP

Seriously, his title as the Assistant Junior Undersecretary for the Volumetric Standardisation of Edible Wizarding Greengrocery Produce is made of pure win! Just the idea of a committee of people coming up with standards for the size of vegetables and the absolute seriousness of the “inadequate grith” of the courgettes makes me laugh so much. And Smythe was just made of win as well. Seriously, everything about this fic was great. Loved Draco’s 412 page report on lettuce dimensions and the Every House Elves and the Full Elf Experience and Harry hitting on Draco and Harry’s corny vegetable jokes and especially the Malfoy Standards, LOL. Oh, this fic..! I love it so much! I just love the overall tone in the fic and how Harry and Draco meet each other again and become friends, and deciding to work together to do something worthwhile. *LOVE* It’s almost a gen!fic in a way, with just a hint of relationship. =) But those little bits with the spontaneous hand-holding and the kiss were perfect and awesome and great. XP

So this fic had me HOOKED from the beginning. The Darkstar project sounds so ominous.. And the descriptions of what Harry was going through during the training phase was intense.

It’s a great fic, but it’s pretty dark. I definitely enjoyed reading it, but there were a lot of things that disturbed me — of course, it was probably meant to be disturbing, so yeah, haha.

I think the most disturbing part of the fic was when he was put in isolation thing and they were forcing him to kill. I liked that he resisted, but it was kind of upsetting when he did end up doing it. The idea of manipulating some organization training and molding people into just following orders, especially to kill, without questioning it just rubs me the wrong way. I was very disappointed when Harry did end up doing it…

Also, the debriefing thing kind of sucks too.. Losing all of your past just seems kind of lame. I mean, all those people are just signing on to be, like, mindless drones or “perfect soldiers” or whatever. (Gundam Wing reference! XD Not just because I love GW, but also because this fic kind of reminds me of old GW fics I read a long time ago.)

I liked the bonding spell, and how Harry decides to keep it, this one link to the past and the ability to love, which is what Harry does and it’s perfect. And I honestly was expecting an unhappy ending, but I was pleasantly surprised. =)

Overall, great story, but kind of dark. It’s not what I typical like to read, but it’s good to have some from time to time.

I thought the plot of this fic was pretty original. I haven’t read many portrait!fics before, so this is awesome. I liked the idea of the Death Eaters infiltrating the portraits of Hogwarts, though I wish it was explained just how they did it.

I also liked the idea of Headmaster!Draco. I don’t think I’ve read any Headmaster!Draco fics, but I do think that it’s an awesome idea. XP I thought his chracterization was great, how he argued with Harry about needing to think about whether he would go into the portrait world or not. It makes sense for his character, and his decision in the end once a student was attacked.

On a sidenote, I thought Harry was a total asshole for like, half the fic, LOL. I mean, seriously, his attitude in the beginning just rubbed me the wrong way — I wanted to smack him so much! But I guess it all turned out okay in the end. XP

GUHHHH! THIS FIC! The opening scene! OMG AWESOMENESS, lol. Especially bottom!Harry. XP Seriously, my favorite is bottom!Harry / top!Draco. *heart* And then the next scene after that, with Harry overanalyzing and just being a dork. XP

I like the idea of Harry owning a pet store. I could believe. Also, I love Fritz, lol. And when Harry finds out that Fritz was kidnapped…! I love how worried Harry is over his Fritz. And Fritz = SUPER CUTE, lol.

Poor Harry, being so embarrassed on the morning after and having a hard time going to contact Draco about Fritz. Good thing Ron was there to help him out! Ron was pretty awesome in this fic, haha. XD

And then there was the morning after the second time, lol. Harry is just too cute with his inner dilemma. XP And his thoughts about “next time” while he’s still on slight denial, haha.

My favorite part of this fic, besides the awesome chapter titles (they seriously were awesome, lol. XD), was the part with the toy car. XDDDD

“Nice, isn’t it?” Draco delightedly looked down on the red Ferrari, a tilt to his head. “I found this in an Alldays. Do you think they make them for little people?” Draco asked, curiously. “I didn’t know that Muggles could see the little people.”

Dumbfounded, Harry could only stare, then something warm kneaded his insides and he struggled to keep the laughter inside. “I don’t know, Draco. Maybe they just took the full-sized car and shrunk it, for easy display purposes.”

Draco’s expression morphed to scepticism. “Harry, I don’t think so. See…” He flipped up the hood. “There are no mechanics in the front. Terrible shrinking job if that’s the case. I think,” he took on the tone of someone explaining the non-existence of Santa Claus, “it is actually a toy.” His voice was filled with such tenderness, like he hated breaking the bad news to Harry, that Harry barely kept his face straight. He blinked, nodding in understanding.

And, in contrast…

Draco squeezed his hand around the car, Harry by his side. He thought it terribly amusing that Harry thought the car was real and simply reduced in size. He added it to the pile of things he found endearing about the other man, though Draco thought it best to keep that to himself. Harry already had enough leverage against him.

Oh Harry and his sarcasm. And Draco, not even catching it and just thinking of his dorky Harry. *love*

I really like this fic, for the most part. The characterization of Harry and Draco are pretty awesome. I liked that Draco has grown so much, and that Harry has learned to be confident in the limelight. It’s definitely refreshing from how we normally see him shying away from the press.

I loved how Harry and Draco are just drawn together. The pacing of it is great. I can understand Harry wanting to use Draco in the beginning of their relationship, but at the same time, it was pretty insulting. (I would probably beat him over if anyone said something like that to me, lol.)

The scene when Draco bottoms for the first time was pretty good. I liked all of Draco’s internal conflicts, and his eventually pushing it aside. And, of course, there was this:

“That was… you were amazing,” Potter whispered, his exhales ruffling the hair on Draco’s forehead.

“I was,” Draco agreed, and drifted off to sleep with the sound of Potter’s quiet laughter ringing in his ears.

Oh Draco, so cute, haha.

But yeah, my heart just kind of broke for Draco when he decided to go to Harry’s campaign rally. Seriously Harry, why such a jerk?!

I didn’t like how Harry justified himself to Draco at the end. I just have problems with cheating, even if it’s “fake” cheating. I hate it when you watch TV and you see it and I hate it when you read it and you see it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I want Harry and Draco to get together at the end (and similarly, sometimes on TV, I still want them to get back together and stuff), but it still annoys me. But I guess that’s the difference between fiction and real life — in real life, I would never let anything like that slide, but in stories, you want your OTP to survive, haha.

I love this fic! The characterizations are great and Martin is an AWESOME OC. *heart*

Martin shrugged uncaringly. “So she just didn’t want to marry you. Point is, it was a good decision. You two made each other miserable, and that made me miserable. And let’s face it, that’s what really matters.”

“Your empathy is overwhelming.”

Seriously, I loved Martin. XD

But besides Martin, I loved how Draco decided to become a Healer and how he ends up treating “half-breeds and low-lives”. I loved that Harry is naturally suspicious of Malfoy because of course he is, and how Bill talks him out of it, and how quickly Harry changes his tune.

“So, let me see if I have this right: you came down here tonight to arrest me for gods only know what, full of indignant rage and righteous fury. Then, a few hours later, you’re going to return to the Ministry, suspiciously without your man, and start sticking your nose into their dirtiest little secret. Potter, I’ve been stalked by you, and you’re balls at it.”

Then there was the attraction between Harry and Draco! And Harry just kissing him out of the blue and Harry just beind a complete dork and not knowing how to say things right, haha. XP

“Sure you are. Now, tell me what’s wrong. I will go back to doing my reports and pretending to care.” He did indeed pick his quill back up and turn the majority of his attention to the file in front of him.

“I thought things were going really well. But he keeps kicking me out of his flat.”

“Is… that a euphemism?”

“What? Ew, no! Why would you think I would tell you anything about my sex life?”

“You have one?”

“NO! And that’s the problem! He gives me the signals, and then when I move in, he kicks me out – not a euphemism! – and then he makes the first move, and I go with it, and once again, he kicks me out – still not a euphemism. I tried to be honest. Apparently, I talk too much.”

“I’ve been telling you that for years.”

And later, when they finally have sex. GAHHH! *heart* Seriously, there definitely needs to be MORE bottom!Harry in the world! I always get so excited about bottom!Harry because there isn’t enough of it and it’s my favorite. *love*

I just love this fic!

Poor Draco, being so desperate that he didn’t realize he wasn’t taking Wolfsbane — and when we find out that Narcissa is in the house and just knowing what was going to happen.. ;_;

And then there was the dynamic between Harry and Draco!

Draco pressed his nose forward, nuzzling the webbing between Potter’s fingers, scraping against the rough calluses. He rubbed his cheeks up and down the palm and each finger in turn. Potter let him.

The need for more was impossible to ignore. It pulsed through his body with the frantic beat of his heart. He opened his mouth and flat-tongued, he licked Potter’s hand — heel of the palm to tip of the fingers.

Potter gasped, pulled his hand away and stared at it a moment before looking back at Draco. His eyes flickered over Draco’s face as if an answer might be written there.

Draco could smell the musky scent of arousal pouring off him.

“Did you just… mark me?”

Draco’s cheeks burned. But the wolf’s need had been undeniable and now the next time Potter saw Teddy, Teddy would know. Would understand.

Potter’s neck flushed, red creeping from his collar and spreading upwards.

Potter blinked up at him for a moment and Draco flushed, suddenly realising Potter might think him disgusting. Might say no.

Hermione sniffed and turned her attention to Malfoy. “If I were to hazard a guess, I’d say he’s trying to look as different to his old self as possible. I think he wants everyone to look at him and see that he’s changed.”

Harry watched Ron press his lips together to restrain the quip that was fighting to escape his mouth. He shot Ron a quick grin and turned his attention on Malfoy.

“Well,” he said slowly, watching Malfoy examine the puddings that had just appeared on the table, “he’s got my attention.”

Oh Harry, haha. I think I’ve mentioned enough that I also like clueless!Harry as well, so total win. XP

And then there was asshole!Zacharias, which I can totally believe because I hated Zacharias in the books, so much! >O

OMG, this fic totally kills me, lol. It’s so hilarious and awesome and I love it SO MUCH. *heart* I love all Luna and all the UST and cranky!Draco and the Umbridge-bashing, and yeah. Seriously, this fic is love. XD

My favorite Luna line = “Let’s go to Fudge’s presentation next” — seriously, so AMAZING!

And the curry part! Dropping the chicken on his trousers! Seriously, that scene was made of win!

Potter blew out a breath and took Draco’s chin firmly in one hand. “I said hold still.”

Draco did the next best thing: he froze. It was hard not to with five of Potter’s fingers warm on his face. And it was damned irritating to find himself accidentally following one of Potter’s orders. Potter touched his bruised eye gently with the damp cloth. It did feel good. Draco held still while the cloth made its way over his cheekbone, cooling the bruised skin there. Potter put the cloth down and rubbed ointment into the bruise with two fingers. Draco may have stopped breathing. A bit.

Finally, Potter wiped off his hand and picked up his wand. He leaned in very close to Draco’s face, brows lowered in concentration. “All right. Don’t move or this will go pear-shaped.”

And then Potter proceeded to breathe on him. Nice and warm, right against Draco’s chin. Of course, he also most likely shot some healing charms at Draco’s face, but Draco’s attention was otherwise occupied. All he really knew was that Harry had hazel speckles around each pupil, and that his own face was feeling rather nicer when Harry pulled back.

“How’s that?”

“Beautiful,” Draco murmured.

“Sorry?”

“I said you’re rubbish at this, Potter.”

Harry sighed.
