At The Same Time, In Another Room (Spencer/Brendon first time)

OMG, this was 100% hot and sweet and hot and maybe 33% secondhand embarrassment, LOL. Seriously, I loved it (even though I struggled through the secondhand embarrassment, it was totally worth it!). I loved how it all started and then suddenly turned angst-y and I just wanted to hit Ryan because why?! And then he rejected Spencer and was mean to Jon and I was like, NOOOOO! And then there was the majorly embarrassing moment which was hot, but I couldn’t help being distracted because I am easily squicked, okay? BUT THEN MAJOR HOTNESS LATER! GUHHHHH! XD

About A Girl

I kind of love the always-a-girl fics like no other because seriously? Awesome. I really liked Brendon in this, how she wasn’t too different as a girl. I liked how she dealt with interviews and her crush on Jon and eventually getting with him. Also, her crush on Ryan and Spencer but not acting on it because she didn’t want to mess with the band. I felt bad for Ryan and Spencer though because they obviously liked her and she was off with another guy! GAH! The implied GSF at the end was too rushed though — not nearly satisfying enough for me. But overall, good fic.

So Tonight That We Might See

I kind of love this fic, A LOT. *heart* I love space!AUs like whoa and I love competent!Brendon being a pilot and Spencer being a captain. XD But what I really love is the history of the characters and how that affects their interactions, that Ryan and Brendon were slaves and that kind of changes how they see things. I also love that Pete was the computer, lol. XP But yeah, I loved Brendon and how he just goes for things he wants despite his history. I loved Ryan’s and Spencer’s anger toward each other and how Brendon pointed out how similar their “plans” for avoiding each other were. And really, Spencer and Ryan thinking alike just fits because they grew up together, they made decisions together, and even though they’re different, best friends are alike in a lot of ways as well. And they were both jealous and it was just so poignant and I kind of loved it, even though they were just so stubborn. XP I kind of loved the chase scene the best, with the meteor dodging and Brendon and Ryan working together on the controls because that was just awesome. *heart*

Playing Favourites

Oh, I really liked this. The characterizations were perfect and the way the boys interacted with each other.. I loved Brendon and how he is just so ernest and how he just wants. It was so cute when Brendon went to tryout and how excited they all were to be together in a band. *heart* And then later, there was the kiss and Brendon is just so brave to go after what he wanted and Ryan, oh gosh, he was such a douche, and then Brendon’s parents seeing and I kind of broke. =( But yeah, I really enjoyed the way the story played out and Ryan’s objections because a foursome would be super hard and intimidating, but I’m glad it worked out in the end. =)

OMG younger!Brendon is so cute! I love how he thinks he’s daydreaming and how he just hits on Ryan on his bed, then asking Jon to be his rockstar boyfriend, and just everything with Spencer, HAHAHAH.

Brendon stares at him and licks his lips and oh my god and he says, ‘I don’t know who you are, but you’re totally going to get arrested.’

The guy scowls and says, ‘I’m younger than you are.’

‘No you’re not,’ says Brendon. That beard is not the beard of a highschooler. ‘You’re like twenty-eight.’

The guy looks really annoyed now. ‘I’m twenty.’

BEST PART EVER. TOTAL WIN. XD

Manifesto

This fic is hilarious! If I quoted my favorite parts, the whole fic would be here, seriously! Therefore, I shall restrict myself to just the most awesomest of awesome parts. XP

“Jon also thought ‘Charlie the Unicorn Goes to Candy Mountain’ was convincing,” Spencer reminds him. “I thought we agreed not to let Jon be our filter of truth for things found online anymore.”

Jon shrugs, completely unconcerned. “You never know.”

“Actually, I think if anyone would know, it would be us.” Ryan snaps his phone shut and rolls over. He’s trying to look smooth, Spencer can just tell, but Ryan’s Unfortunate Awkward Stage is probably going to last until he’s forty or fifty at least, so he ends up falling off the edge of the bed and tumbling to the floor.

Oh boys! *heart*

“Elmer’s glue,” Ryan declares, beaming at Spencer with unmistakable pride. “You’re Elmer’s glue. The Elmer’s glue that holds together the multi-colored construction paper of our lives.”

Jon nods in agreement. “Sticky, white, water soluble and edible. That’s our Spencer.”

Spencer stares at him. Jon doesn’t even crack a smile.

Seriously love them all in this. XD

Because, Spencer quickly reminds himself, Jon is a pervert. He’s got the sweet, charming aw-shucks-boy-next-door routine down to an art, but in reality he’s a dirty old man trapped in a hot young guy’s body. Spencer suspects there’s also a crazy cat lady trapped in there, so it must be kind of crowded, but the point is: dirty old man.

Love how Spencer’s brain works and that Jon is a dirty old man / crazy cat lady, lol.

“Once we had a pillow fight that turned into a pool fight.”

“My mom still reminds me about her ruined pillows every time she makes a bed,” Spencer mutters. His mom doesn’t even care that it was all Ryan’s fault three pillows, two blankets, and an entire sheet set ended up in the pool, because his mom loves Ryan more than she loves her own firstborn son. She always gives Ryan the soft, gooey chocolate-chip cookies and makes Spencer eat the crunchy, overcooked ones.

This = WIN. I don’t even know how a pillow fight can turn into a pool fight, LOL. XD

“It’s nice to see you haven’t forgotten the vernacular of your internet stalking youth.”

OMG YES, LOL. So funny because I was just showing my sister the other day Ryan’s totally stalker ways. XP

“You send the smiliest emails in the entire world, even when it’s entirely inappropriate.”

“I do not!” Jon insists, but he looks a little shifty.

“Do too,” Spencer says. “They’re like the emails that would happen if the computer mainframe at Disney World spontaneously developed an artificial intelligence and began aggressively forcing its cheer and good will toward men on every networked computer system across the globe.”

“I do not,” Jon insists. He crosses his arms stubbornly over his chest. “And wow, way to make smiley faces sound really creepy, Spence.”

Okay, I’ll stop quoting now (even though I want to quote MORE) and just say that Ryan and Brendon having a flame war = WIN. And Brendon bursting into the room and the casual (simultaneous!) dinner and sex conversation is kind of the most awesome thing ever. Also, best last line, EVER.

The Quickest Way to Ruin a Friendship

OMG THIS FIC! It’s, like, so epic. I think this is my third time reading it, and it’s just as amazing as the first. I just love the characterizations and how everyone is so real. I felt so bad for Ryan, wanting Spencer and believing he shouldn’t, and wanting Brendon, but sacrificing his potential to have either by offering Spencer to him. And then there was Jon, who was awesome, and was waiting, and he just wanted them all. And poor Ryan, feeling left out and unwanted and oh I just hurt for him! And Spencer, who was totally in love with Ryan, but willing to go to Brendon, and then falling in love, and being kind of blind, but the end, the end! Seriously, too much hotness and awesomeness and it’s just amazing and perfect and you should read it. *heart*

Perfect Symmetry

Okay, I’m not really into GSF as a general rule, but there’s just something about Panic! that makes me want it. And even though they had a break up last year, I still love them, though it brings me nostalgia now that I’ve jumped back into reading some old P!ATD fics. XP But yeah, this fic just brings that into focus because it’s a little old, before they split in real life, yet it’s a different type of split and it just kills me. The pain in the beginning and how they just separated from each other and the hurt they have and how Brendon calls and that sparks it all.

I love that they were all still pining and unwilling to give up. I love that they spontaneously hop a flight to Berlin because Brendon called, because they need to fix things. I love how it wasn’t easy and all the misunderstandings, and them learning each other again, because really, a foursome is just bound to be problematic. And, as a last note, I felt SUPER bad for Mark in this. He he totally got shafted and those boys were just so rude to him and he totally didn’t derserve it.
