Me!
I go by Remula and I’ve been reading fan-fiction since what feels like forever! Since I love reading fics and because I read so many, I decided to make Simple Pleasures so I could share the fics I’ve read and liked. It’s also a way for me to keep track of all of them because I’m a giant lurker who lurks (which you might be able to tell) and most of the time, I don’t really leave feedback for fics I rec (I’m trying to get better, I swear! But lurker mentality!), so yeah, this is kind of like indirectly leaving feedback, right? XP
The Recs!
I tend to jump around between different fandoms, so recs are organized by fandom and pairing. I generally read slash / yaoi fics, so if you’re offended by that, then most of these fics probably aren’t for you. XP Also, in case you haven’t realized, my recs DO contain spoilers for the fics because I pretty much fail at really reviewing, so don’t read my comments if you don’t want to be spoiled!
All recs are crossposted to LiveJournal and DreamWidth, in case you prefer to get recs to your friends page or whatever.
Lists!
Sometimes I like to make lists of fics and those lists are located under the Lists section. Right now, I only have Required Reading lists, which, I’m sure you’ve figured out, are lists of fics that I consider to be “Required Reading” in the fandom. Obviously this is completely subjective, but it’s a good place to start if you are just getting started.
The MUST READ Tag!
The MUST READ tag is on fics that I think are super awesome and therefore you MUST READ them. XP My criteria for MUST READ is varies a lot and pretty much depends on the types of fic I like and my mood at the time, so there might be super awesome fics that sometimes don’t get tagged as MUST READ and there might be awesome-not-totally-super-awesome fics that are tagged MUST READ because I sometimes like ridiculous trope fics and really, it’s just the way I roll. If you enjoy my taste in fics (which, let’s be honest, you wouldn’t be using my recs as a resource unless you generally had similar taste), you can use this tag as another way to sift through the abundant amount of fics I have rec’d here.
What I Like in Fics!
If you go through my recs, it’s pretty easy to figure out the kind of fics I like to read, but here’s a quick rundown of some of the things I like, in no particular order: Long fics. High school AUs. Ridiculous pining. Flangst. College AUs. Woke up married. Marriage of convenience. Rimming. Coffee shop AUs. Hogwart AUs. Happy endings.

Since these are my recs, it’s only fair that I tell you my preferred preferences and OTPs (One True Pairings). This doesn’t necessarily mean I won’t read things not listed because sometimes I do, but I prefer what I prefer and you’re more likely to find stuff in line with the following (obviously).
